Frequently asked questions
General
Who is your accommodation suitable for?
For city travellers, families, business travellers and trade fair visitors, as well as for temporary living. We do not rent for parties, celebrations or stag and hen parties.
Where are the apartments?
Most of them are on historic Deichstrasse in Hamburg's old town, right on the Nikolaifleet canal – a few minutes' walk from the town hall, the Speicherstadt, the Elbphilharmonie and the harbour. We also have accommodation in HafenCity (Am Kaiserkai), in St. Georg (Hansaplatz) and in Flottbek.
Arrival and departure
When can I check in, and when do I have to check out?
Check-in is from 3 p.m., check-out by 10 a.m. An earlier arrival or later departure is possible by arrangement if bookings allow.
How do I get the keys?
In the apartments on Deichstrasse you don't need any: you open the door with a personal code on the electronic lock. You receive the code by e-mail in advance; it is valid from 3 p.m. on your arrival day until 10 a.m. on your departure day. In HafenCity, at Hansaplatz and in Flottbek we hand over the keys in person.
Can I arrive late in the evening or after midnight?
Yes – at Deichstrasse at any time; thanks to the code, nobody needs to wait for you. In HafenCity and at Hansaplatz you can arrive until 8 p.m., in Flottbek by arrangement.
Can I leave my luggage before check-in or after check-out?
Yes, in a luggage locker, free of charge. Just let us know beforehand.
What if I would like to leave later than 10 a.m.?
Please arrange a later departure with us in advance – after 10 a.m. the cleaning for the next guests begins.
Location and getting here
How do I get to Deichstrasse by public transport?
The nearest underground station is Rödingsmarkt (U3), a few minutes' walk away. The S1 and S3 suburban trains stop at Stadthausbrücke. From the airport, take the S1 to Stadthausbrücke without changing. HVV tickets are also valid on the harbour ferries.
Can I come by car? Where do I park?
We do not have our own parking spaces. The nearest multi-storey car park is Parkhaus Rödingsmarkt (charges apply). On Sundays and public holidays, parking around Rödingsmarkt and Steintwietenhof is free. You can stop briefly at Steintwietenhof to load and unload. Please never park in the pedestrian area of Deichstrasse – vehicles are towed away there.
Facilities
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, free Wi-Fi in all our accommodation. You will receive the login details before you arrive.
Are bed linen and towels included?
You can add bed linen and towels for a one-off charge of €10 per person; the beds are then made up when you arrive. You are also welcome to bring your own. At Hansaplatz, linen and towels cost €5 per person, and in the Elbsuite they are included.
How is the kitchen equipped?
All apartments have their own fully equipped kitchen; the guest rooms share a communal kitchen. The basic supplies include washing-up liquid, tea towels, toilet paper, shampoo, salt, pepper, coffee and oil.
Is there a washing machine?
Some apartments have their own washing machine and dryer, and there is also a shared laundry room on Deichstrasse. The description of each apartment shows what it offers.
Is there a lift?
The building at Deichstrasse 36 and the apartment in HafenCity have a lift. The other buildings on Deichstrasse and at Hansaplatz do not; some apartments are on the third or fourth floor. If you have a lot of luggage or limited mobility, please check the floor in the description.
Is there a cot or a high chair?
Yes, free of charge on request. Please mention it in your enquiry.

Are pets allowed?
Not in our apartments. The only exception is the guest rooms at Hansaplatz, where a dog is welcome.
May I smoke?
No. Smoking is prohibited in all our accommodation, including at an open window and on the balcony.
Can I have a party in the apartment?
No. Parties and celebrations are not allowed, and only registered guests may stay overnight. Our buildings are residential, with neighbours – please be considerate.
Booking and prices
How do I book?
Choose an apartment or room and send us an enquiry using the form. You will receive a non-binding offer by e-mail, usually on the next office day. If you would like to book, we will ask for your full address and a mobile number.
What is included in the price?
We quote a total price including 7% VAT and final cleaning, with no commission. Hamburg's culture and tourism tax of around €1 net per person per night is added. We do not charge a security deposit.
Is there a minimum stay?
The minimum stay depends on the season and availability. The search on our website shows you straight away which dates are available.
How do I pay?
A deposit of 20% is due on booking, and the balance by bank transfer no later than 7 days before arrival. For short-notice bookings, the full amount is due immediately.
What does a cancellation cost?
The deposit is not refunded if you cancel. If you cancel less than 4 weeks before arrival, we charge 50% of the booking amount, and 90% if you cancel less than 7 days before arrival. We recommend travel cancellation insurance. For bookings made via a portal, the portal's terms and conditions apply.
Can I get an invoice for my company?
Yes. Just give your company name and address in your enquiry; the invoice shows VAT separately.
Do you also rent for longer periods?
Yes. We rent furnished apartments for temporary living from three months. For holiday stays of 14 days or more, weekly cleaning is also included.
